Injuries Blogs - Page 2
Injuries happen to everyone. They occur regardless of age, race, or income. In the first half of life, more Americans die from injuries sustained in motor vehicle crashes, falls, or homicides, than from any other cause, according to the Center for Disease Control. No one plans to become injured, but the fact is accidents happen unexpectedly, and can have lasting detrimental effects.
Aside from the physical and mental pain injuries can cause, there is an economic toll as well. Nonfatal injuries accounted for more than $457 billion dollars spent and fatal injuries racked up a $214 billion price tag, according to the CDC. These costs do not even account for the loss of wages some might experience due to their injuries.
