One Dead, Two Hurt in Edgecliff Village Wreck

WFAA Channel 8 ABC News reported recently that one person is dead and two others injured after a motor vehicle accident in the Edgecliff Village neighborhood and enclave suburb of Fort Worth, Texas, on the afternoon of Tuesday, February 16, 2021.

According to officials from the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred between 3:00 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. Central Standard Time (CST) on the 6300 block of Village Parkway. For unknown reasons still under investigation, a single vehicle veered off the travel lanes and struck a light pole in the center median of the roadway.

All three occupants of the vehicle were medically transported to local hospitals. One of the victims, a man 39 years of age, has succumbed to the injuries he sustained in the impact of the vehicle against the light pole.

The accident remains under an active investigation, but official have not ruled out whether the slick, treacherous weather conditions were a factor in the fatal accident. Officials emphasized the importance of staying home and off the roadways due to the unusually icy and slick road conditions ushered in by Winter Storm Uri, noting that a high volume of accidents have occurred in the area as a result of these conditions.
