Stunt Drivers May Have Been Involved In Fatal Shooting
One thing that street racers and stunt drivers will do is block intersections before a performance. Ostensibly, this could reduce the risk of non-participants from getting tangled up in a crash with them, even though it’s illegal to block traffic.
Dallas police are now looking for who might be responsible for shooting a pedestrian at a gathering like this in Mountain Creek. The Dallas Morning News reports.
The shooting happened around 10:40 PM on Duncanville Road near Ledbetter Drive. Witnesses to the incident say that drivers had blocked off the intersection for a race prior to the death. A woman was walking near the area when shots rang out. She may have been struck by a stray bullet. Police say that she lived in the area and that she probably did not interact with the street racers.
The family is asking for the responsible party to come forward, and police have put out a reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect. So far, they have little to go on. Information about who to contact can be found in the linked article.
Our sincere condolences go out toward the victim. We hope that the responsible party is found and brought to justice, and that the victim’s family can receive some sort of compensation.
