A Woman’s Vehicle Carjacked, The Man Shooting Other Vehicles Still At Large
The NBC affiliate in Dallas–Fort Worth reports that police are searching for a man who opened fire on vehicles along Interstate 20 on Thursday morning.
Authorities say that at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 6th, a man was shooting at other vehicles. After crashing his car, he then got out and, with a gun in each hand, kept on shooting. He then carjacked a young woman’s pickup and fled the scene. Witnesses say that an unidentified woman also accompanied the shooter.
The victim, who asked not to be identified, had just stopped at a Tandy leather shop when the incident unfolded. She told NBC reporters that the man had fired a lot of shots and that he was brandishing a semi-automatic rifle in one hand.
The man and woman walked straight toward her and demanded her pickup truck. “I got out, and I ran.” the 21-year-old carjacking victim said. The man kept firing. “I was preparing myself to get shot.” She tensed her body and was ducking the gunfire but was not hurt in the incident.
Fort Worth Police have identified the man as 32-year-old Anthony Gordon. Officials say he has a lengthy criminal history and has outstanding warrants for his arrest. Gordon is still at large, and police are hoping they can locate him before someone is hurt or worse.
Police say that Gordon may still be driving the carjacked vehicle. It is described as a white Ford F-15 pickup truck with Texas license plate BLF-4824. He is said to have been armed with a handgun and an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle.
Anyone with any information as to Gordon’s whereabouts is being asked not to approach the suspect but instead contact Fort Worth Police at (817) 392-4381.
