Police Seek Hit And Run Driver After Road Rage Incident
Getting into an altercation with another driver can end up being extremely dangerous. Such an incident recently took place in Dallas County last week, and now the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a hit-and-run motorist who took out their aggressions and ran over another driver.
NBCDFW reports that the incident happened last week during rush hour at approximately 5:15 p.m. on Friday, November 20th.
According to a statement released by the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, during an altercation on the roadway, a female motorist got out of her car to confront the other driver. The second driver accelerated and backed up their vehicle, running over the woman. They then fled the scene and did not attempt to help the woman.
Eyewitnesses to the incident told sheriff’s deputies that the vehicle was a silver 2008 Toyota Avalon sedan. The car has a Texas license plate NTB 9178.
Authorities say that the hit-and-run crash damaged the vehicle’s passenger-side mirror, and it may have also suffered additional damage to its front end on the passenger side from the incident. Investigators are uncertain whether the vehicle’s registered owner was the person behind the wheel at the time of the crash.
The Dallas County Sheriff’s Department asks anyone with any information about the vehicle to contact their Vehicular Crimes Unit at (214) 589-2327 or (214) 589-2343.
