Police Seek Culprit In Fatal Motorcycle Hit And Run

It’s unconscionable that someone would hit another person and not stop to help.  However, that is exactly what happened over the weekend.  Now Dallas Police detectives are seeking the public’s help leading to the arrest of the driver who struck a motorcyclist and left him to die.

WKRG’s Biker Dad reporter, Chris Best, reports that the incident happened on Friday, November 28th, at approximately 3:43 a.m. in the 10500 block of Shady Trail.  The driver fled the scene and failed to stop and render aid.

Officers with the Dallas Police Department found the motorcyclist’s body lying on the curb on the roadway’s west side.   The biker was declared dead at the scene.

Authorities are searching for a red, four-door sedan, possibly a 2007 – 20012 Toyota Yaris, that has suffered damage to the left tail light and is missing part of its rear bumper cover.

Anyone who has seen the vehicle or has any information regarding the fatal crash is asked to contact Detective Jason Massey with the Dallas Police Department’s Vehicular Crimes Division at (214) 671-0012  Extension # 8465. They may also contact Detective Massey by email at Jason.massey@dallascityhall.com.  When contacting authorities, please refer to Dallas Police case number 212600-2020.

A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered by Crime Stoppers to anyone with information leading to the arrest and indictment of the person responsible.  Witnesses may contact Crime Stoppers (214)373-TIPS.
