One Woman Dead After Crashing into Utility Pole in Austin
CBS News Austin reports that a woman was killed in a single-car crash in southeast Austin the early morning hours on Wednesday, June 9th, 2021.
Police investigators say that the deadly crash happened in the 5200 Block of McKinney Falls Parkway shortly after midnight. A woman was heading southbound along the roadway when her vehicle collided with a utility pole. The heavily damaged vehicle then caught fire.
Austin Police officers and paramedics with the Austin-Travis County EMS responded to the scene of the crash. One female was inside the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident is currently under investigation. It is unknown what may have caused the crash or whether drugs or alcohol may have been a factor. Officials have not released any further information about the woman.
For surviving family members, it can be heart-rending not knowing what happened in an accident. It’s hard to gain any sense of closure or attempt to pick up the pieces after such a tragedy until they conclude an investigation.
