Guilty Plea in 2015 Crash
The Dallas man who struck and killed a bicyclist in the summer of 2015 has pleaded guilty to charges against him.
Court documents indicate that Silverio Alaniz pled guilty to charges of Accident Involving Death and Criminal Negligent Homicide in connection with the fatal accident last July where Alaniz was speeding through a Dallas neighborhood. Alaniz’s vehicle struck the bicyclist with so much force that the victim stuck in the car’s windshield.
The victim, Jimmy Sines, was impaled in the crash. Investigators indicate that Alaniz drove an additional half mile before dumping the man’s bod in an alleyway and fleeing the scene.
Alaniz has been sentenced to five years in prison and 10 years of probation.
