Boy Scout Killed in Accident
A 14-year-old boy from the Cedar Hill area was tragically killed after being run over by a trailer. The accident happened while the youth was at a Boy Scout Camp located in central Utah.
Officials with the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) say that the teen, who was a counselor-in-training with the Scouts, was out picking up trash around the camp Tuesday night when he slipped and fell underneath the tires of a trailer being pulled by a truck.
The teen’s name has not been released.
Utah National Parks Council Scout Executive David Pack says the trailer was carrying the garbage.
Approximately between 400 to 500 Boy Scouts are currently at a week-long camp being held at Tifie Scout Camp at Mountain Dell Scout Ranch in Utah. The Boy Scouts’ Utah National Parks Council Scout Executive David Pack says the camp will continue in spite of the tragic accidental death.
