Two Crashes Over The Weekend Possibly Linked To Street Racing
Fox 4 News is reporting on a police investigation involving two separate crashes. They’re believed to be connected to street racing and stunting.
The crashes didn’t involve other vehicles, but two businesses were wrecked. Surveillance video captured crashes at a restaurant and a dry cleaner. The restaurant had a truck ram through the front wall after losing control during a burnout. Fortunately, there were no diners in the restaurant at the time.
“It looked like a tornado had gone through that side of the restaurant. The brick was everywhere. There’s dust on every table,” said the owner of the restaurant. “There was glass on this table back here and dust was just everywhere, every single spot you can imagine in this restaurant.”
For the dry cleaner, their video caught three vehicles on tape that may have been involved in the crash. Two people fell out of the vehicle that hit the building and almost got ran over by their own car.
Fort Worth has passed laws approving of tougher penalties for street racing, whether participating or watching, but businesses are left with the damage. Police are looking for all the people involved for questioning.
We hope that insurance covers the damage to both of these buildings. We’re also glad that no one was killed in these incidents. Both businesses have reopened.
