Single-Vehicle Accident North Of Vidor Leaves One Dead And One Injured

A 43-year-old man has been pronounced dead after a single-vehicle accident on West Circle, north of Vidor, Texas. The incident occurred around 2:30 in the morning on Thursday. The driver, 38 years old, survived but was rushed to a hospital with unknown injuries.

According to this report from Channel 12 News Now, the driver was pushing the 2019 Dodge pickup at an “unsafe speed” when it veered from the road to the right and struck several trees. Both the driver and the passenger were ejected from the truck, but only the passenger died on the scene.

It seems all too common these days to hear about accidents like this one. Someone is in a hurry. It’s often early in the morning or late at night. The driver may be tired or under the influence. Or perhaps the driver is simply distracted by a cell phone or the radio. A split-second miscalculation leads to a fatal error. Even when no other vehicles are involved, as was the case here, the damage can be extensive. One person lost his life, and the medical expenses and property damage will be crippling. It appears the two men involved in this crash were related, so we can only imagine the trauma this has caused for the entire family.
