Police Find Toddler In Car After Police Chase In Carrollton

Officers from the Dallas Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, and Carrollton Police Department were engaged in the pursuit of three suspects accused of shoplifting from two area stores.

According to a report filed by the CBS Local Station in Dallas – Fort Worth, Carrollton Police received reports of theft from both the Melrose Family Fashions store and the Dollar General Store located on Josey Lane.

A short time later, the suspect’s vehicle was spotted by a Carrollton Police Officer who attempted to pull the car over. The driver refused to stop and instead got onto Interstate 35 and headed toward Downtown Dallas.

A member of the store staff who had witnessed the thefts told Carrollton Police Officers that they believed one of the three female suspects in the theft had a child with her at the time.

Carrollton Police officers discontinued their pursuit, and a Texas DPS helicopter was able to spot and track the suspect vehicle to the 1600 block of Pine Street in Dallas.

Officers from the Dallas Police Department and the Carrollton Police Department were able to locate the three suspects and their vehicle and placed two of them under arrest.  The third suspect attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended by police officers.

Officers also found a two-year-old child in the suspect vehicle. The child was unharmed in the incident.

Timmiesha Jennings, 21, Destiny Palmer, 21, and Sharnae Harris, 26, are all facing charges of organized crime, child endangerment, and evading arrest.

Police are currently attempting to find an adult relative to care for the child. If none is found, Child Protective Services (CPS) will take custody of the child.
