Pedestrian Dies in DUI Crash
One pedestrian has been killed while another has been critically injured after they were struck by a vehicle on Friday.
According to the Dallas Police Department, Kevin Christman, 28, has been charged with intoxicated manslaughter and intoxication assault after the Nissan Maxima he was driving struck two pedestrians art approximately 7:15 p.m. on Friday at the intersection of Moody Street and Harry Hines Boulevard.
A car had collided with Christman’s vehicle causing the car to jump the curb up onto the sidewalk. The pedestrians were both transported to Baylor Hospital.
The first victim has been identified as Cedric Davis, 26. Davis died at the hospital as a result of the injuries he suffered in the accident. The second victim, Lauren Davis later also died on Saturday morning.
At the time the accident, Christman was determined by police to have been intoxicated and was arrested and charged at the scene. He is currently being held in Lew Sterrett Jail.
