Pedestrian Attempts To Cross I-20, Hit By Multiple Vehicles

A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 20 near the Highway 360 interchange in Grand Prairie left one person dead on Wednesday, December 4th.

CBS Local in Dallas reports that the accident that happened just before 3:30 a.m. involved at least two vehicles and a pedestrian.

Police officers responding to the crash said that the male pedestrian who was attempting to cross the eastbound lanes of the Interstate was struck by multiple vehicles. He was declared dead at the scene of the crash.

The crash victim’s identity was not immediately released. A spokesperson from the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office later identified the victim as Bradley Cole Wright, 31, of Angleton, Texas.  The cause of Wright’s death is pending.

The first vehicle to strike Wright is believed to be a red pickup truck. The impact disabled the truck, causing a chain reaction when it was hit by another car. All of the vehicles that struck Wright remained at the scene until released by police investigators.

No other injuries were reported in connection to the crash. The area was closed to traffic while the scene was investigated until approximately 7:30 a.m.

According to TxDOT, this is the third pedestrian fatality on highways in North Texas in just one week.

So far, no charges have been filed in the case.
