One Dead in Dealey Plaza Crash
Nobody ever heads out on the road and expects to find themselves in an accident. Any time you or a loved one gets behind the wheel, there is always the potential to find themselves in a crash ends in serious injuries or even death. Even if you take every precaution possible by wearing a seat belt and avoid the dangers as much as possible, the unexpected can happen.
That is what happened in downtown Dallas in the early hours on Sunday. According to a story that appeared on the NBCDFW website, one person was killed in a crash that happened near Dealey Plaza.
Dallas Police were called to the intersection of Elm, Main and Commerce scene at approximately 3:00 a.m. Investigators say that a 2017 Lexus traveling on Elm Street at a high rate of speed crashed into a concrete bridge support when the driver failed to make the curve in the roadway which passes under a railroad overpass.
A passenger in the vehicle who had not been wearing a seatbelt was ejected from the vehicle. Emergency crews transported the passenger to Parkland Hospital where they are currently listed in critical condition.
Police investigators say that the driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office has not released the identity of the driver pending notification of family.
There is no question that wearing a seat belt can save lives. And for most states within the U.S., it’s also the law. Paying attention and obeying the signs on the road can also help to prevent an accident. Of course, there will always be those who will take a risk and believe that they can simply ignore the rules. Irresponsible behavior behind the wheel can end in serious injury or worse. When you are the victim of the careless behavior of others, it isn’t fair to expect accident victims to pay the price. That’s where a personal injury attorney comes in.
