    Man Dies in Stadium Fall

In a story reported by WFAA.com Dallas, a man has died after falling from the upper deck of Turner Field in Atlanta, Georgia.

Ronald Lee Homer Jr., 30, fell about 65 feet at Monday night’s game between the Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies, which had been delayed for nearly two hours by heavy rain according to authorities. Homer, a life-long fan of the Atlanta Braves, had just spoken with his mother Connie Homer by cellphone just prior to the accident.

According to Atlanta Police, there was no indication of foul play, and the fall appears to have been an accident. While no details have been released as to the cause of Homer’s fall, an autopsy has been planned by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office on Tuesday.

An Atlanta Braves spokeswoman declined comment Monday night, referring calls to the Atlanta police.

It was not the first fall at the stadium to result in death. Two other accidents, both alcohol related, happened at Turner Stadium: One in May of 2008 where a 25-year-old man fell down a stairwell and later died and another in August of 2012 where a 20-year-old man fell over a railing onto another spectator. In September of 2012, another man fell approximately 25 feet over a staircase railing at a football game however, he was not seriously injured.

The family of this man will more than likely employ the services of an accident attorney. Any time a person is injured or killed on public or private property, there are certain liabilities involved. Because this is not the first incident of injury at Turner field, it will be a matter for the attorneys and respective insurance companies to sort out.
