Cyclist Dies In Hit And Run Accident In Hurst
Bicyclists may be hard to see at night, but that is no excuse for running away from the scene if you hit one. The police are searching for a driver who did just that. CBS reports.
Hurst police are on the lookout for the driver that hit a 62-year-old bicyclist and left him for dead on Tuesday. The accident happened just before 9 PM on East Hurst Boulevard.
Police were able to get to the bicyclist and take him to the hospital, but he died at the scene. Footage of the incident shows that the driver was behind the wheel of a dark colored older-model SUV. It fled away from the accident “at a high rate of speed” according to detectives. Several businesses caught it on security cameras.
Damage on the vehicle will be on the hood, front right fender, and front right bumper, but the police have not been able to get a license plate number. They are asking the public to help find the driver. If you know who might be responsible, click on the link above and call the number at the bottom of the article to contact the deputy in charge.
We hope that the suspect is caught and that justice is served.
