Drunk Driving Victim In Madison Dies From Her Injuries

Police were able to find a hit-and-run DUI driver, but sadly his victim passed away. Northside Sun reported on the accident, which happened in Madison.

On June 10, an accident happened at U.S. Highway 51 and Hoy Road. The drunk driver fled the scene of the crash, but was quickly caught by the police. He was arrested and taken to jail. The victim, meanwhile, had to be pulled from her vehicle. She was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Unfortunately, she died at hospital from the rear-end collision. The driver’s charges are sure to be upgraded because of this.

Accidents like these are why people should never drink and drive. Drinking slows your reaction time and clouds your judgment, both of which make it much more likely that you’ll get in an accident.

Even if you are below the legal limit, if you drive like you are drunk you can still be charged. If you’re the victim of a drunk driver, you should speak with a personal injury attorney as soon as you can to see if a lawsuit is right for you. You may be eligible for compensation that will cover the costs of your injuries, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other damages.

The state will punish drunk drivers severely, but you also need to see if you need compensation. Call a personal injury attorney for advice.
