Alleged Drunk Driver Flips Car, Crushes Teen
Today we have a tragic drunk driving case that killed a young man on Dallas roads. We would like to remind our readers that it is never okay to drink and drive. CBS DFW explains what happened.
The teen, driving a Chevy Equinox, was negotiating a legal left-hand turn onto South Hampton Road. The alleged drunk driver, along with his 10-year-old son, plowed through the intersection and hit the Chevy in the side. The impact was so strong that it flipped the Chevy onto its roof, causing massive head trauma to the young driver inside.
The alleged drunk driver had cuts and a dislocated shoulder, but that didn’t stop him from trying to fight with police after the crash. The police have reason to believe that he was drunk. He’s been charged with intoxication manslaughter and two charges of intoxication assault.
The child in the car also had to be taken to the hospital. He had a broken arm and possible internal injuries.
It only takes one mistake to rob someone else of their life and put you into prison. When you drive drunk, it’s only a matter of time before something like this happens. Never drink and drive. Call a taxi or use a designated driver instead.
