A Topless Woman Who Led Law Enforcement On A High-Speed Chase Surrendered Near Waxahachie
Officers with the Dallas Police Department were engaged in a high-speed chase of a topless woman along Interstate 5 last week. The chase ended when the woman crashed her vehicle into a semi tractor-trailer rig.
Police and law enforcement officers can choose to pull a driver over for any number of reasons. Whether it’s something as minor as a malfunctioning taillight with a light that doesn’t work or something more serious such as suspecting impairment, most drivers know to obey the law and pull over when they see flashing blue lights in their rear-view mirror. According to a recent story reported on the website for CBS Local in Dallas, however, a woman who was driving while topless thought it would be better to try to evade law enforcement instead.
The entire incident was captured on video by News Chopper 11. In the footage captured from the scene, several law enforcement vehicles can be seen pursuing a burgundy SUV for a significant distance on Interstate 5.
Just past Waxahachie, the woman lost control of her vehicle and crashed into the rear portion of an 18-wheeler that was in the far right lane. The heavily damaged SUV slid off the highway and onto a grassy area.
The woman, who was wearing no shirt, got out of her wrecked vehicle and appeared to be surrendering to police. At the last moment, however, she then attempted to resist arrest before being taken into custody.
So far, authorities have not released the woman’s identity or stated why police were trying to pull her over.
