    Child’s Prank Causes Fatality, Murder Charge

    A childish prank on Wednesday has led to a woman losing her life in a fatal crash and a 14-year-old now facing a murder charge.

    The CBS affiliate station in Dallas-Fort Worth reported in a story which appeared on its website the crash happened in Houston on January 2nd. According to a statement released by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, an SUV filled with teens were throwing eggs at other vehicles.  One motorist, who was armed with a handgun, gave pursuit of the SUV which was being driven by a 14-year-old male. His name has not yet been released.

    A spokesperson for the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said in the statement that while trying to evade their pursuer, the teen ran a red light and crashed into a pickup truck. The victim in the fatal crash has been identified as Silvia Zavala, 45, had been out shopping at the time according to Harris County Sheriff, Ed Gonzalez.

    The teens told described the driver as being tattooed and had been chasing them with a firearm, causing them to run the red light. The later was later identified and will be brought in for questioning.

    The 14-year-old driver allegedly suffered a broken ankle in the crash. He was treated for his injuries then later booked into a Harris County juvenile detention facility.
