Waco Hero Dies In Car Accident In Dallas
A young man hailed as a hero for running into a house in East Waco and saving someone’s life has died in a car accident in Dallas. The Waco Tribune reports.
Two years ago, he ran into his elderly neighbor’s house to rescue him from the flames. He was honored by the local community for his heroism.
He died in an accident where he was a passenger. The 21-year-old driver tried to change lanes in a Dodge Charger at a high rate of speed. The driver hit a pickup truck, bounced off, and hit a utility pole.
All three people in the car were ejected from the vehicle. The driver suffered minor injuries, while the young hero died in the incident. The third passenger was taken to the hospital.
The local community is planning a memorial ceremony for him this Saturday at Waco High School.
No information was released about the condition of the driver or whether the people in the car were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. However, it is expected that the driver may face charges for his role in the incident.
When you’re a passenger, your safety is at the mercy of the driver. But you can always wear your seatbelt and lock your doors for protection. If you’re riding with a younger driver, keep your wits about you for danger.
