Officers Honored For Rescuing Family From Burning Car

Three people were recognized for heroism after resucing a family from a burning car in Anna. NBC reports.

Officer Wesley Davis got the call about a vehicle that crashed into a bridge on Highway 75 at FM 455. A couple and their infant son were inside the SUV, which had caught fire from the crash.

The officer’s body cam shows Officer Davis responding to the incident. Two game wardens were already on the scene and pulled the father and the infant from the car, but the mother was still trapped behind the wheel.

The camera footage shows the men pulling the woman from the SUV just before the entire vehicle caught fire.

The parents have recovered, but the child is still recovering from the accident. For his actions, all three people were honored on social media.

The cause of the accident is still unknown. The driver does not remember anything about the crash.

Cars catching fire in a crash is uncommon, but it does happen. It’s a dangerous situation. The flames can easily trap someone inside the car and burn them to death, especially if they are pinned in the car. If it weren’t for the work of these brave officers, the family would have faced tragedy, and the child would have had to grow up without his mother.
