Officer Struck By Hit And Run Driver
No one should ever be tempted to flee the scene of an accident. This is especially true if a driver has ended up hitting someone with their vehicle. It seems that this is exactly what may have occurred during an incident that happened on Sunday. Police say that in the process of responding to a domestic disturbance call, a driver hit a Dallas Police officer with their vehicle, sending that officer to the hospital. In an article which appeared on the NBC Dallas-Fort Worth affiliate website, police received a call at the Dallas Southwest Police Station located on West Illinois Avenue regarding a domestic disturbance. Police responded to the address and the officer had been in in the process of making an arrest when the suspect struggled with the officer and managed to escape. In the process of driving away from the scene in his own vehicle, the suspect then struck the officer as he was attempting a get-away.The officer was taken to an area hospital to be treated for minor injuries. He was later released. Police later apprehended the suspect and held them.The identity of the suspect and any pending charges against them has not yet been released by authorities.
