Head-On Crash Kills 6 In South Texas

Last Saturday, early in the morning, a deadly head-on collision took place, leaving 6 dead and 3 injured. This crash happened in South Texas, on Interstate 37 near Mathis, Texas. Mathis is about 20 miles north of Corpus Cristi.

The first vehicle involved was a sedan carrying four men, ages 19, 18, 18, and 24. All four of them were from Alice, Texas. They were traveling southbound.

The second vehicle was a minivan carrying 5 people. They were from San Antonio, Texas. The minivan was traveling northbound on I-37.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation. What authorities do know is that these two vehicles were involved in a head-on crash. The four people in the sedan and two of those in the minivan were killed as a result of the injuries they sustained. The remaining three suffered serious injuries, as well.

The two that died in the minivan were a 19-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman.

When you travel on a highway, the slightest moment of distraction can prove fatal. On top of that, even when you are focused on the road, external conditions or mechanical failure can lead to a tragic collision, such as the one outside Mathis on Saturday.

Even an accident that doesn’t result in a great loss of life can lead to massive injuries, long-lasting medical bills, and expensive property damage. The report of this crash came to us from CBS DFW.
