Four Dead, Including Two Children, In Lancaster Crash
NBC Los Angeles has reported on a multi-vehicle crash in Lancaster that left two women and two children dead. A fifth has been hospitalized in critical condition.
In the accident report by the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened at East Avenue G and North 30 Street East this morning. One woman had died at the scene and the other four were taken to local hospitals. The other woman and the two children died there.
A crash investigation is in progress. The news report doesn’t state how many cars there were or how they struck each other, but considering the road names it’s likely an intersection crash.
Intersections are one of the most common places for severe crashes. A good portion of driver’s education is all about how to approach and drive through one safely. If we all follow the patterns, we stay safe. But i we run a red light or turn when we’re not supposed to turn, crashes happen.
For so many people to die, speed and possibly intoxication may be factors. We will keep an eye on this story as it unfolds. Our condolences go out to the family of the slain victims, and we hope that the single survivor recovers from their critical condition.
