Dallas Woman Killed & 3 Others Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash in Oregon
The Statesman’s Journal reports that a 66-year-old Dallas woman was killed, and three additional people were sent to the hospital with injuries in a crash just outside of Buchanan, Oregon, on Wednesday, June 9, 2021.
Oregon officials say that the crash happened at approximately 4:00 p.m. during rush hour. The fatal crash involved multiple vehicles including a passenger car, an SUV, a motorcycle and a van.
Investigators say that the Dallas woman was heading westbound on the highway and attempted to pass two motorcycles. Her car collided with the van being driven by a motorist from Oceanside, California. The driver of the passenger vehicle was able to avoid the crash but swerved off of the road and collided with a highway sign.
Multiple crews from area emergency services responded to the scene of the accident. The 66-year-old woman died at the scene. They took three others who were hurt in the crash to area hospitals to be treated for their injuries.
The crash is still currently under investigation.
We wish to extend our condolences to the family of the slain victim and hope that everyone hurt recovers as best as possible. Passing is always dangerous on a two-lane road. Never try to pass unless you can clearly see down the other lane, and be prepared to merge back if things turn unsafe.
