Toyota Gifts Brand New SUV To Paramedic For Heroics During Deadly Pile-Up
Behind every tragedy is a story of misfortune, of victims caught in the middle of horrible events, their lives changed forever. That’s what makes them tragedies. However, every once in a while, from tragedy a different kind of story emerges, the story of everyday people doing something heroic. This week, one major company has decided to reward one such hero after the tragedy of a deadly pile-up on Texas’ icy roads.
A couple of weeks ago, a multi-car pile-up claimed the lives of 6 people, injuring countless more. Vehicles, large and small, were mangled in the massive wreck. One such vehicle was a 2011 Toyota FJ. The driver of that SUV was a MedStar paramedic named Trey McDaniel.
After his FJ was sandwiched in the accident, which involved a total of 130 vehicles, McDaniel managed to crawl out of the wreckage. Despite his own injuries, this brave paramedic did what he’d been trained to do. He started providing medical support to others in the crash.
Because of his heroism, Toyota North America has decided to gift him a 2021 Toyota 4 Runner TRD Pro at a special ceremony at Texas Toyota Grapevine.
From all the tragedy and pain and mourning this one major accident produced, from all the cost of medical expenses and property damage the major winter storms in Texas spawned, stories like this one provide warmth to our hearts and souls, a story of everyday people rising to the occasion and acting as heroes.
