SUV Flies Off Roadway, Tips Gravel Truck Over In Plano
A freak accident in Plano killed two people and injured another according to the police. DFWScanner.net reported on the incident.
An SUV with two people was traveling west on the service road of 190. Police say the vehicle was speeding and failed to navigate a turn. It went into a ditch, lifted up into the air, and flew into US-75.
The SUV crashed into the side of a gravel hauler pulling a trailer. The force of the collision tipped it over and pinned the driver of the hauler in the truck. He died at the scene along with one person in the SUV. The other person in the SUV was taken to the hospital.
All lanes of the highway were closed because of the accident.
The faster a car goes, the harder it becomes to control. Anyone who has driven a car will know that you have to turn the wheel more to overcome the forces of turning at higher speed. You can feel yourself getting pushed to the side.
It’s not just you getting pushed though. It’s the whole vehicle. Too much force and you’ll tip or leave the roadway. Considering that a gravel truck tipped over in this crash, the SUV must have been going rather fast.
