Pickup Truck Crashes into DART Bus
Thousands of people ride DART every day to get around the city. By and large, their drivers are very safe on the road. That’s why stories of them getting into accidents will always make the news. It can be easy to jump to conclusions and blame the DART driver, but in this week’s story, the fault was the other driver’s.
Early in the morning, one of the buses for the 515 route was getting ready for work. As it was crossing Ramona Avenue and Fordham Road, a pickup truck ran a stop sign and crashed into the side of the bus. The bus swerved off the road and hit a tree. Fortunately, there was no one on the bus except for the driver.
Both vehicles were rendered inoperable and all involved were taken to the hospital. The driver of the bus is expected to survive, but the condition of those in the pickup truck are unknown. The front end of the truck was completely crushed, so it may be quite serious.
