Motorist Pinned Between Median And 18-Wheeler
The winter weather this year has caused an incredible number of accidents. For those motorists who find themselves caught in a weather-related crash that also involves a large commercial truck, the outcome can be terrifying and end in tragedy.
CBS news in Dallas Fort-Worth recently reported about one motorist in Ohio who is indeed lucky to be alive after his Chevrolet Cruze was pinned between a concrete median and an 18-wheeler.
According to the report, the accident happened on Sunday, February 11th on westbound Interstate 70 just north of Dayton, Ohio in Clark County.
Images Tweeted by the Bethel Township Fire Department in Clark County showed the pinned Cruze with its rear axles in the air and pressed tightly against the median by the tractor-trailer rig.
Authorities say that the driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured. The driver of the Chevrolet Cruze was extricated from his vehicle and transported to Soin Medical Center in Beavercreek and was not seriously injured.
A spokesperson for the Bethel Township Fire Department said weather “played a significant role in the crash.” The driver, whose name has not been released by authorities, was cited by law enforcement officers who responded to the crash for having failed to control their vehicle.
