Trump Supporters Harass Campaign Staff Members

An incident along Interstate 356 to Pflugerville involving armed Trump supporters and a campaign bus for opponent, Former Vice-President Joe Biden and Senator Kamala Harris caused Democratic campaign officials to cancel an event on Friday night.

WFAA reports that the bus was carrying campaign staff members called 911 when the harassment by the caravan of Trump supporters in Hays county began. Neither Vice President Biden nor Senator Kamala Harris was on board the bus at the time.

Another campaign staffer’s vehicle suffered damage when it was rammed by a pickup truck that was part of the caravan that Democratic officials claimed had been targeting their bus across central Texas.

The suspected driver of the black truck, which caused the staffer’s vehicle damage, has been identified as 48-year-old Eliazar Cisneros. of San Antonio.

The Dallas News confirmed that Cisneros has a history of encounters with the law, including an incident in July for harassing Black Lives Matter protesters in San Antonio in September of this year and impersonating a law enforcement officer in 2014.

Cisneros bragged on his Facebook page about the harassment of the bus and slamming into the campaign worker’s vehicle.

WFAA reporter Mari Salazar spoke with a criminal defense attorney and former prosecutor, Rick Flores, about the incident.

“I think that there’s probably a good chance that some criminal charges might be filed,” Flores said.  He then added that he did not see the incident between the pickup truck and the smaller car as an accident.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are both currently investigating the incident.
