DART Requests Public To Follow New Rules To Slow Outbreak
DART provides an invaluable service to the city. Even in the wake of the outbreak, they are continuing full services. What they provide is essential, but they are asking the public to take precautions to stay safe. CBSDFW reports.
DART wants to continue to provide full services on its buses and trains because so many people rely on them to reach essential services. However, this also puts people in close contact with one another. Here’s what DART recommends.
- Maintain a six-foot distance from everyone on the vehicle as much as possible.
- Leave an open seat between you and other passengers if you can.
- Don’t touch other people.
- If you are sick for any reason, stay away from DART.
DART is also sanitizing their vehicles throughout the day and night, and are also asking the public to report unsanitary conditions by calling (214)-979-1111 or using the “DART Say Something” app.
We encourage you also to follow these rules if you’re riding public transit to get to work, get groceries, or see the doctor. We all need to do our part to stay as clean as possible while we wait for the virus to burn itself out. By distancing from one another, we can reduce the spread of the virus and pool resources for the most critical patients over time. With luck and hard work, we can reduce the number of fatalities.
