Two people are dead after a vicious head-on collision in Tyler, Texas. The accident involved a pickup truck and a charter bus carrying students home from a trip to Florida.

The CBS local station in Dallas-Fort Worth reported on Sunday, March 10th about the accident that happened early that morning.

A spokesperson from the Tyler Police Department said in a statement that the pickup truck had wandered into the westbound lanes of the road, and crashing into the bus head-on. Both the male driver of the pickup truck and another male passenger were killed.

Police say that there were 32 people on board the bus, including 25 students and six adults. The students from Brookhill School were returning from visiting Orlando, Florida when the crash occurred. The students from the private school ranged in age from pre-kindergarten to 12th grade.

Two students and two adults were taken to an area hospital with minor injuries.

Authorities have identified the driver of the pickup truck as Jeffrey Dalton Aynesworth of Rusk, 22 and the passenger as Payton Joseph Raymond, 24, of Flint.

The head of the Brookhill School, Rob Fletcher, released a statement expressing both sorrow and condolences to the families of those killed in the crash.
