Plane Crash Leaves Three Dead, One In Critical Condition
A plane crash over the weekend in Bryan has claimed the lives of a former Community ISD School District board member, her husband, and daughter. Another person was left critically injured.
CBSDFW reports that the Bryan Police Department issued a statement identifying the three people killed in the crash on Sunday, August 30th, was David Walker, 54, his wife, Tamara Walker, 51, and their 21-year-old daughter Victoria.
Bryan Police said that the single-engine Piper PA24 crashed 85 miles northwest of Houston in Bryan as it came in for a landing at Coulter Field.
Emergency crews found all four inside the wreckage of the plane. The Walkers were declared dead at the scene while a fourth occupant, believed to be Victoria’s boyfriend, was rushed to an area hospital. He is currently listed in critical condition.
Madeline Walker was not on board the plane at the time of the crash.
All three victims were from Farmersville, which is located approximately 40 miles northeast of Dallas. Community ISD Superintendent Dr. Roosevelt Nivens said in a statement, “The Brave Nation lost three integral members of its community Sunday afternoon when David, Tammy, and Victoria were called away from this world.” Tamara Walker, as well as her daughters, Victoria and Madeline, were all alumnae of Community ISD.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will be investigating the cause of the crash.
