Newlyweds Dead As Struck By Oncoming Pickup Truck

What should have been one of the happiest days for the family of a young couple in Orange County turned into the worst nightmare imaginable.

The Dallas News reports that on Friday, August 23rd, Harley Morgan, 19 and his bride, Rhiannon Boudreaux Morgan, 20, had just said “I do” before an Orange County Justice of the Peace. Approximately 5 minutes later, the newlywed’s vehicle was struck by an oncoming pickup truck on Highway 87 South while the groom’s sister and mother watched in horror.

“Those two babies…The only thing that they wanted was to get married and start their life. The two of them had so many dreams,” the groom’s mother, Kennia Morgan tearfully told reporters.

Morgan had attempted to pull her son and his bride from their mangled vehicle, but both the bride and groom died at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck was uninjured.

Harley and Rhiannon were planning a more formal wedding for the Christmas season in which to invite family and friends. Not wanting to wait to make their marriage official, the couple said their vows before a Justice of the Peace.

For Kenna Morgan and her daughter who were following the young couple in a second vehicle, the image of the accident that unfolded before them will forever haunt them.

“I witnessed my own worst nightmare. That’s an image that will haunt me the rest of my life, “Kennia said.
