Man Arrested After Fatal Car Crash

Our justice system has been designed to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. This is why you are innocent until proven guilty. This is why first-time offenders often get off easy, allowing them to prove their determination to do better in the future.

But there are times when people take advantage of such policies. As a result, sometimes innocent bystanders pay with their lives.

Take the example of a young man in San Angelo, Texas who was arrested on Monday after causing a multi-car accident. A police officer spotted the man, a 32-year-old Christian Baros, driving far over the speed limit along North Chadbourne Street. At the intersection of East 19th Street, Baros, in a pickup, hit a black Dodge Durango and then went on to strike a Ford Escape. After that, the pickup rolled several times before coming to a stop on it’s roof.

According to Go San Angelo, there were two women, aged 60 and 62, in the Durango. They sustained minor injuries. a 38-year-old woman in the Escape later died from her injuries.

Baros sustained injuries as well and was taken to a local hospital. He was also arrested on Monday for evading arrest and possession of a controlled substance.

This was not the first time Baros has been in trouble regarding reckless driving. He had been given probation in 2010 for his involvement in an accident that ended in one injury.
