Kentucky Authorities Arrest Dallas Man on Hit-and-Run Charges

News Graphic.com reports that a 25-year-old Dallas man has been arrested for his role in a hit-and-run crash that happened on the evening of Monday, June 28, 2021.

According to a statement issued by the Georgetown Police Department in Georgetown, Kentucky, the two-vehicle crash happened at approximately 6:41 p.m. One vehicle in the crash was a white box truck with Texas license plates. They have identified the driver of the box truck as Emmanuel Hazika, 25.

Police investigators say that Hazika fled the scene of the accident, heading northbound on Interstate 75. Eyewitnesses to the injury crash were able to provide a description and license plate information to the police.

No injuries or other damage were reported in the incident.

Hazika was followed by another police officer, who happened to be in the area. After exiting the Interstate, the officer caught Hazika attempting to remove the damaged bumper from his truck from the vehicle.

The officer arrested and took Hazika into custody. He is now facing the charge of having left the scene of an accident resulting in serious injury, failure to render aid or help, and tampering with physical evidence.

Hazika was booked into Scott County Detention Center and later released.

The incident is still currently under investigation.
