A Greyhound Bus Accident Kills One And Injures Several Others

A Greyhound bus carrying a group of 29 passengers en route from Denver to Dallas was involved in a two-vehicle crash on Monday morning. One person has been killed, and several others were injured in the accident.

KFDX Channel 3 reports that the  Greyhound bus had just left Lubbock Station at 10:40 a.m. on Monday, September 14th, and was on its way to scheduled stops in Lubbock and Wichita Falls. The bus was heading eastbound along U.S. Highway 277 in Baylor County when it collided with a white pickup truck that was driving southbound on U.S. 183.

A spokesperson for the Department of Public Safety, Sgt. Dan Buesing told reporters that the Greyhound bus collided with the pickup truck at the intersection,  causing the bus to overturn.

The agencies responding to the crash were the Archer County Sheriff’s Office, the Seymour Police Department, Seymour-Baylor County Emergency Medical Service, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and Air Evac.

There were at least three people on board the bus who were airlifted by Air Evac to an area trauma center. All three passengers were listed with serious injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck was also transported to the hospital in Seymour with non-life-threatening injuries.

One person, a passenger on the bus, was reported to have been killed in the crash. Authorities have not released their identity pending notification of family members.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation. Officials have not said whether impairment may have been played a role in the accident.
