A Truck Overturn Closed A Portion Of The Dallas Mixmaster

Cement mixer trucks are heavy-duty vehicles that are specially designed to deliver loads of cement to a  construction or job site within a limited amount of time. Construction industry experts say that a load of cement or concrete needs to be delivered to its destination no later than 90 minutes after being loaded onto the truck to eliminate the risk of the cement hardening inside the onboard mixer of the truck.

Because a fully loaded cement mixer truck can weigh as much as 70 tons, it can cause a severe accident to both the driver and passengers inside the truck and other motorists on the road. While no one was reported to have been injured, a quizzical accident occurred in Dallas recently.

Dallas station NBCDFW reported on its website that on the morning of Thursday, April 23rd, one of these trucks overturned on an overbound in the northbound lanes of Interstate 30.

A spokesperson for the Texas Department of Transportation said that the overturned truck closed a portion of the Dallas Mixmaster. Because the accident happened on an overpass, all eastbound and a portion of the northbound lanes of the interstate were closed Thursday morning.

Fortunately, no other vehicles were reported to have been involved in the crash. No injuries from neither the driver of the truck nor surrounding vehicles have been reported.

Authorities did not say what caused the crash, and it is not clear if speeding may have been a factor in the overturn. The accident is still currently under investigation.
