Speeding Teen Kills Passenger, Injures Three Others In Ambulance Crash

A teen driver is facing the worst day of his life after a fatal crash involving an ambulance in Pleasant Grove. NBC 5 has the story.

According to the report, a 15-year-old was speeding down Scyene Road along with two other teen passengers. He spun out and left the roadway, hitting a sign and a DART bus stop bench.

That collision caused the car to flip over and land on its roof, skidding into the driver’s side door of a parked ambulance that was tending to a patient. The driver of the ambulance and the paramedic were injured in the crash, but the patient was fine.

The same cannot be said for the people in the flipped vehicle. They were all taken to the hospital. One of the teen passengers died and the other has serious injuries.

The driver is expected to survive, but he is facing manslaughter and assault charges in the crash. Even as a juvenile, these are serious charges.

It is unknown whether the driver had a provisional license or not, but even if he did, then the rules were violated because there was no licensed driver over the age of 21 in the car. Even if he has to serve time and pay fines for his actions, getting a license after this will be extremely difficult.
