Car Crashes Through Bedroom Wall, Kills Grandmother Before Fleeing

When relaxing at home and getting ready for the day, being involved in an auto accident is probably one of the last things you might expect.  Unfortunately, however, for one woman in Fort Worth earlier this month, that’s exactly what happened while she was at home and in the bedroom of her apartment.

The NBC affiliate in Dallas Fort Worth reported that on Monday, January 6th, 64-year-old Malinda Sue Goullet was at home in her bedroom when an SUV crashed through the bedroom wall of her apartment,  killing her. Her 8-year-old grandson was also in the apartment with her at the time but was unhurt in the crash.

The fatal hit-and-run crash happened at the Reserve at Center Point apartment complex after 10:00 a.m.

Dallas Police investigators say that something caused the SUV to accelerate in reverse, where it jumped over a curb and crashed into Goullet’s apartment. Police now believe that a hit and run driver is what caused the SUV to crash into the building.

The Dallas Police Department issued a statement saying that they are looking for the driver of a vehicle that was seen speeding through the parking lot of the apartment complex. Police said that they are looking for either a PT Cruiser or Chevrolet HHR. Eyewitnesses to the incident say that the vehicle is dark grey, green or brown in color and will have sustained front end damage.
