    Officers Injured During Traffic Stop

According to the Texas Penal Code, Section 38.03, whenever someone prevents or interferes with the actions of a law enforcement officer such as resisting arrest, it is considered a Class A misdemeanor. Chapter 22 of the Texas Penal Code recommends that the aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer can face substantial fines and up to 20 years imprisonment.

CBS Local in Dallas reported that two Euless police officers were attempting a traffic stop of a motorist on Wednesday, June 12th after a traffic violation on East Denton Drive at approximately 5:20 p.m. The driver initially refused to pull over when directed to do so by police officers. When the motorist finally did pull over within the 100 block of East Denton, he got out of his vehicle and confronted the officers. Again the driver refused to comply with the commands of the officers.

The officers got into a struggle with the motorist, who, and managed to injure and escape arrest. He was later apprehended by backup officers who were called to the scene.

The two Euless Police officers were taken to Baylor Grapevine Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Both are expected to be alright.

The driver was also injured in the incident. Authorities have not yet released his identity or said what charges will be filed against the suspect.
