DART Bus Involved In Multi-Vehicle Crash
Taking the bus is a great way to save money on daily commuting costs. It also provides a way to address environmental concerns and is a great value and convenience for many people living within the city. Even with all of the positive aspects of taking the bus, just as with any other mode of transportation, riding a bus, subway or metro train still carries the risk of getting into an accident.
NBC in Dallas Fort Worth reports that on Monday, May 6th eight people were hospitalized after the DART bus they were riding on was involved in a multi-vehicle chain reaction crash.
Dallas Police investigations reveal that the driver of a Mazda rear-ended a Mustang just after 1:00 p.m. at the intersection of Rocky Ridge and Ledbetter. The impact then pushed the Mustang into a DART bus that was stopped at the time.
Authorities indicate that there were 13 people on board the bus at the time of the accident. Eight of the passengers were taken to area hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. One of the passengers, a small child, was transported to Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, while the other adult passengers were sent to Dallas and Duncanville.
Both the drivers in the initial crash were transported to the VA Hospital in Dallas. Authorities have not released their identities or their condition after the crash.
