Accident in Dallas County Turns Fatal
A two-vehicle accident in Dallas County on Saturday evening has cost a Selma woman her life.
Authorities say that the accident occurred three miles west of Selma on Alabama State Route 14 when Tamera Rena Billingsley Mayo, 44, was driving her 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix and her vehicle collided head-on with a 2013 Mercedes-Benz.
Mayo was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Police say she had not been wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Sheriff’s deputies say that Valerie England , 52, of Marion, the driver of the Mercedes was airlifted to Birmingham hospitals along with two passengers who were in the vehicle with her at the time of the fatal crash.
Alabama state troopers indicated that the accident is still currently under investigation.
