Major Charter Bus Crash in South Texas
Eight people have died and approximately 40 additional people were injured after a charter bus crash in South Texas.
According to authorities, the accident happened on Highway 83 North, near Laredo filled with casino-goers headed to Laredo rolled over.
Emergency crews from the Webb County Volunteer Fire Department and units from the City of Laredo responded to the call of the multiple-fatality accident.
Officials closed Highway 83 during the rescue of those who were injured and to investigate the crash.
The National Transportation Safety Board will be sending agency officials to assist with the ongoing investigation surrounding the bus crash.
Every year, there are hundreds of people who are injured or even killed in accidents involving buses. Whether it is a charter bus, school bus or city bus, there are many safety regulations that cover buses and who is liable for what.
Injuries as the result of accidents can be expensive. Medical costs, the cost of rehabilitation, time off of work, or the tragedy of funeral expenses in addition to everything else families require to get their lives back on track can add up quickly.
In the case of bus accidents, insurance companies would much rather deal with the claims of the injured or the surviving family members of those who were tragically killed directly rather than to have accident victims hire an attorney to represent them.
