Man from Yesterday’s Story Identified
The man who drove his car into a Fort Worth Home on Friday and died while attempting to flee the scene of an accident has been identified.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner says the dead man is 39 year old Gaylon Moore. A 6-year-old boy, who was in the car with him at the time of the fatal crash, had been secured in a child safety seat at the time of the accident. The boy did not suffer from serious injuries in the accident.
Moore was driving northbound on Southwest Boulevard at a high rate of speed just after having been involved in a prior crash on the bridge over W. Vickery Boulevard. Fort Worth authorities report that as the driver was fleeing the first scene, he drove across the grassy median that separates the main lanes from a service road. He then struck a fire hydrant, losing control of the vehicle. Moore’s vehicle then crossed into the 6900 block of Culver Avenue, his vehicle rolled over into a house, and struck a parked car in the home’s driveway.
The crash destroyed the garage of the home.
The homeowner, Leslie Brammer, said that she felt the impact of the accident where the mangled black station wagon landed upside down in her garage.
Brammer said that she saw the child, still strapped in his car seat and attempted to comfort him until emergency crews arrived on the scene.
If the driver in this accident had done what he should and stopped in the first crash to face the consequences rather than attempting to flee the scene, he might still be alive. Hit and run accidents are considered a very serious crime in the state of Texas and are the worst kinds of accidents that can happen to anyone.
