SUV Plows Through Church Due to Medical Issue with Driver
An SUV has driven through a Fort Worth church Wednesday morning. At about 11:30 a.m., a man who was driving the Yukon apparently suffered a seizure and drove through an intersection and almost 50 yards before ending up hitting the church structure. The gray GMC Yukon broke through the wall of the Cambodian Baptist Church of Fort Worth located in the 3300 block of Cleburne Rd. The vehicle plowed through the building until it hit a wall on the opposite side of the structure.
The minister at the church told News 8’s Todd Unger that the SUV drove straight through the church caretaker’s bedroom. Thankfully, the caretaker just happened to be out getting donuts when the accident occurred
According to MedStar, the driver of the SUV was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital and is listed with non-life threatening injuries. Damages to the church, which has a congregation of approximately 150 members, is estimated to be between $20,000 and $30,000.
