Second Bus Crash in San Antonio in as many Days

A San Antonio city bus collided with the front of a home on San Antonio’s east side after crashing into another vehicle and jumping a curb around 1:00 p.m. Sunday. While the driver of the bus was not injured and no one was aboard the bus when it crashed, the woman who was driving the car and has been hospitalized and is listed with minor injuries. The San Antonio Police Department is currently investigating the cause of the crash.

The incident comes just two days after three children and two adults were injured in a similar accident where a school bus crashed into a home at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio. The San Antonio school bus was returning from Fort Sam Houston Elementary School on Friday afternoon, when it the brakes on the bus failed sending it crashing into a home in a military base housing complex.

Thousands of people are injured or killed in accidents involving buses each year. Insurance companies who represent bus or transit companies would much rather deal with the claims of injured passengers directly. Insurance companies for transit companies and municipalities like to deal directly with accident victims so that they can settle at a much lower amount than what an accident is really worth. This is especially true if the injuries of victims are serious.

Many cities, county and even state government has strict time limitations as to when someone can file a legal case against them for damages. Time is of the essence and you need to have an attorney working for you who is experienced in accident and personal injury law.
