FedEx Truck Blamed For Fatal Collision on I-35W

A woman has lost her life on Tuesday when the vehicle she was in collided with a Federal Express truck near the interchange of I-35W and Highway 114.

According to an article and broadcast story appearing on the CBS local station in Dallas-Fort Worth, the multi-car accident happened at approximately 11:00 a.m. in the northbound lanes of traffic. Authorities say that due to construction happening along I-35W in Fort Worth, traffic was being forced to merge. The initial crash was in the construction area near the Texas Motor Speedway where the Federal Express package delivery truck rear-ended a white Kia sedan.

This initial crash caused a chain reaction resulting in other vehicles being involved.

So far it is not clear how many other vehicles were involved in secondary crashes or if other injuries were also involved. One woman, whose name has not been released, was killed in the crash. It is not clear where in the vehicle the woman had been riding.

So far no word has been released on the condition of the driver of the Federal Express truck.

The Federal Express company has issued a statement to the press regarding the fatal accident: “First and foremost we extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the individual involved in this incident. We are cooperating fully with investigating authorities at this time.”

Investigators are still working to determine what may have led to the fatal accident.
